Bikaru Results!
We had a great turnout for this year's Bikaru, and the results are in! A special thank you to all the participants, volunteers, and sponsors for making it a great success! Also, let's not forget Mother Nature for providing such a beautiful day. We hope to see you all in the fall for the marathon.

The Kennebecasis Valley Challenge Marathon has been held every fall since the inaugural event in 2004.

The 2009 event was held on Sunday, October 18th.

A free spring event called a bikaru has been added which covers the course with a run/walk, bike and kayak through the beautiful Kennebecasis Valley from Bloomfield, through Hampton and Quispamsis to Rothesay.

This year conditioning clinics are provided for those interested in the sport.

The original mandate was to hi-light the sport of marathon distance running and to provide a marathon event as a motivating goal for fitness. To help people achieve this goal a relay has been added.

The success of this event is because of the support from the communities of Hampton, Quispamsis, Rothesay and Saint John. As well, numerous businesses have provided the financial and in-kind support necessary to sustain the event.

Over 150 individuals have participated each of the past two years which is in range of the 200 required to sustain the event into the future.
